Swimming Term 4

Swimming Term 4

• Heated pool - 29 degrees
• Snow on the hills and still able to swim everyday.
• First school to swim in the Gisborne district
• Yah!! Matawai

Term 4

Kiaora Room 4 Whanau,

Term 4 already! Wow the year is flying past.

Term 4 is going to fly by before we know it.

We are starting the term looking at collaboration with Gisborne Intermediate, a Ki-o rahi tournament for the year 5-6 students, swimming with Pat and of coarse our amazing camp in Wellington.

Here is a quick summary of up coming events

Our amazing cyber learning is continuing each week with the support from Manaiakalani.

Motu x country Friday week one, with a postponement date of Tuesday week 2.

Week 2 Wednesday Ki-o-rahi tournament and collaboration day with Gis Int at Gis Int.

Week 4 Sunday 4 November - 9 November, Room 4 camp to Wellington.

Week 5 Ag day, Friday, 16 November

Week 6 Matawai School derby , go cart challenge

As you can see a full busy term!

Term 3 is already looking like a busy term full of fun, exciting learning.

Our Cyber learning is all about our amazing class blogs and being able to connect with other schools around our district, country and the world.
Exciting times to be able to extend our learning past our class room door.
Our main learning focus will be looking at smart relationships.

Measurement is our math focus to start the term. We are exploring how to measure volume and to use our number knowledge to help us solve our measurement problems.

Science is our focus with the science fair in week 4.
We are learning to write using the scientific method and reading widely around our chosen topic to gather and research relevant information to support our investigations.

Later in the term we will be looking at Parliament and our Government.

• What makes up a Government
• Economy/budgeting

We will explore what makes an effective speech, how to create a successful debate.

Term 3 is time to prepare and get ourselves ready for the up coming cross country in week 9.
This practice will be happening daily at school, it would be great if this practice was happening at home as well.
Our CJK focus is invasion games. We have been looking at large ball invasion games and we will continue this focus this term.

Creating strong passwords

Today Rm4 worked on creating strong passwords.

We have added to our Kawa of Care 

to include our learning from today.
